He was corporate counsel or general counsel of four corporations including Conseco Finance and GE. He has litigated or managed the litigation of over 10,000 cases which gives him a wealth of knowledge in Litigation Mitigation, Loss Prevention, Workplace Safety, Employment Practices, and Corporate Compliance and Governmental regulations.
His knowledge of Employment Practices is unsurpassed. Minnesota Governor Arne Carlson appointed Steven the Director of Diversity and Equal Opportunity and Employment in 1991. Also, he was adjunct professor at William Mitchell College of Law teaching courses pertaining to Employment Discrimination and Trial Skills. He is published in the University of Minnesota Law School Journal of Law and Inequality.
